Hi, my name is Stacey Gow and I am the school Counselor at Blanton Elementary. I live with my husband of 26 years, our 14 year old son and our goofy dogs, Sky and Raleigh. Our daughter graduated from Guyer High School last year and is now a freshman in college!
This is my 17th year as Blanton's school counselor.
I graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Texas A&M University (whoop!!) in 1998. From there I obtained my teaching certificate and began teaching 4th grade. I then moved to Arlington and taught 3rd grade for 8 years at a wonderful school in Grand Prairie ISD. I love being in the classroom and teaching but I always knew that counseling was my future, so I took the plunge in 2007 and went to graduate school while working as a K-5 Reading and Math interventionist (and started a family, WHEW...busy year!).
I earned my Master's degree in Counseling from UNT in 2009. Woohooo!
Out of the many wonderful aspects of my school counseling job, I love that I can be in the classroom to teach children through guidance lessons and character education the most. There are many amazing opportunities that this rewarding job affords me, such as helping kids sort out confusing feelings, resolve conflict peacefully and develop the skills to become happy, healthy and successful in all areas of their lives!! I am so blessed to be a part of such a remarkable staff and dynamic community.
I am here to help our Blanton students and support our families, so please don't hesitate to contact me.
