About Mrs. Reina Johnson, M.S.Ed.

Mrs. Johnson is a 2003 graduate of Tarleton State University. She holds a BFA in Theatre Arts and a minor in English with an emphasis in Technical Writing. She graduated with her Masters in Educational Leadership from Western Governor's University in 2020. She obtained her Texas School Administrator Certificate in 2021 and is also a certified school administrator in the state of Washington. However, she plans to stay in the classroom here at Ryan until her kids both graduate in 2027. This will be Mrs. Johnson's 19th year in education. Mrs. Johnson is certified to teach grades 6- 12 Theatre Arts, 8- 12 English/Language Arts/Reading, ec- 12 Visual Arts, and 6- 12 ESL. Prior to joining the Ryan team, Mrs. Johnson taught Theatre and Tech Theatre for 13 years. Mrs. Johnson is married with two children, 12 and 15. Her daughter is freshman at RHS and her son is in 7th grade at one of Ryan's feeder Middle schools. She, her husband of 18 years, and their two children live in Aubrey, TX. Mrs. Johnson was born here in Denton and was raised in nearby Graham, TX. She is proud to be a part of Denton ISD and plans to stay here for a very long time.

A little bit more about Mrs. 'J'. She is a 3 times cancer survivor (melanoma in 2009, NET cancer in 2017, and Carcinoma in 2019). She is an only child. She moved 32 times before graduating high school, but was born right here in Denton, at Flo Memorial Hospital. Mrs. 'J' and her family love to travel and do so often! Some of her most beloved adventures include Tanzania, East Africa, Chicago, Illinois, Panama City Beach, Florida, Miami's South Beach and Pegosa Springs, Colorado (Mrs. 'J' LOVES to snow ski!!!)

In December 2018 Mrs. 'J' competed in her first fitness competition for which she trained for 28 weeks. She competed in the Novice, True Novice, Under 40, and one other division. She trained to compete for a 2nd show April 2020, but it was cancelled two weeks prior, due to COVID-19. She competed again in San Antonio on October 17th 2020 at the NFF Alamo Showdown, where she placed 2nd in four divisions, 4th in another and 6th in another. She is currently in prep for a full season of competition from to take place April 2022- June 2022.
