WELCOME TO MY WEB SITE!

Covid-19 Update:

Our campus may be closed, but I am still open for learning! My "virtual" office hours are M-F 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Please email me at jphillips4@dentonisd.org or call me at 940-369-4009 (I'm not at school, but I will receive your voice mail message) with any questions or concerns you may have.

Students: If you need tutoring while we are out, I will be using the Zoom app, if you have it. This app allows me to write on the screen for you to see how to work a problem. Also, if you need a graphing calculator, please use Desmos.com.

I’m excited to be teaching at Fred Moore High School. I post course outlines and other important information about my classes on this site. Click on the links at the top of the page to find out more.

I have tutoring every Monday from 3:50 - 4:30 and Tuesday - Friday from 8:30-9:00 during early class.

About Mrs. Phillips

I'm delighted to be a teacher in Denton. Both of my children received an excellent education here. Previously, I taught sixth grade math at Coppell ISD and 7th grade math, 8th grade math, and algebra I at McMath Middle School, before coming to FMHS. I have a degree in mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin and am certified to teach grades 4 through 12 math.

Before I became a teacher, I spent almost 20 years in the business world, mainly in telecommunications. I was director of corporate communications at both Lucent Technologies and TXU Communications where I indulged my love of writing. I live in Denton with my loving husband, who teaches 8th grade science in Grapevine. We have two wonderful children, a son who graduated from Austin College and a daughter who graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. In my spare time (which is almost never), I love writing, knitting, sudoku puzzles, and taking care of our dogs.
