Welcome!

Hello, Pioneers! My name is Mrs. McCarty and I am the Reading and Math Interventionist here at Union Park. We are going to do so many fun things this year and we will learn a lot! I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful journey with you!

About Me

My family and I moved to Aubrey 4 years ago and this will be my fifth year at Union Park. I was previously a 2nd grade teacher here for 3 years. Before that, I lived in Kyle, TX for 3 years and taught 3rd grade and 5th grade while I was there. I also lived in Houston where I taught 1st grade for 3 years. This will be my 11th year teaching! 

I lived in Illinois for high school and college, so you will hear me talk about it… A LOT! (Go CUBS!) I graduated in Elementary & Special  Education from Lewis University in 2012. I graduated with my Masters in Literacy Education from TWU in the spring of 2024.

I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with my wonderful family. My husband and I have an amazing 5 year old son, Carson. We also have a dog, Cali, and a cat, Cruella.  

I am really looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you this year. Here are a few of my favorite things, so you can learn a little bit more about me.
