About Me

Welcome to 4th grade!!

I am so ready for another amazing school year at Adkins!

Originally, I am from Arkansas and a Razorback fan (Go Hogs!) even though I am a graduate of Arkansas Tech. I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Communications. After moving to Texas, I got my teaching certificate and fell in love with teaching students reading and writing.

I have been teaching for Denton ISD for 8 years. In addition to a general teacher certification, I have a special education background and certification. I spent 4 years at Paloma Creek Elementary teaching special education, helped start a learning community for the educators at 4 different schools to support inclusion teachers, and served on multiple school committees including Team Lead and Sunshine! In addition to teaching as an inclusion teacher, I have taught 5th, 3rd and 4th grade. This is my second year at Adkins Elementary and I have loved getting to know the community and families here.

My husband DJ and I have three kids and we all love to be outside camping and hiking when we can. Our family loves playing games together, watching family movies and PIZZA FRIDAY! Sports are important to our family as well because we have a freshman at Braswell High School who plays basketball!
