Supplies

Each student will need to come to class daily with their charged Chromebook, textbook, math folder, composition book (math journal), notebook paper, pencils, and a book to read when finished with work. Calculator provided in class and on Chromebook is TI-84 plus CE.

Grading Policy

The math grade is defined and calculated by the following categories:

0% - Formative (assignments)

40% - Minor Summative

60% - Major Summative

This policy has been set by the district and is the same at all DISD middle schools.

Classroom Policies and Procedures

Each student will be required to bring all math supplies to class daily. All work must be done in pencil. Quizzes may be given at any time and test dates will be announced in advance.

Reassessments

Students will be given a plan on what they need to complete and do in order to reassess. This will be for any and all mandatory and voluntary reassessments. Please refer to the Reassessment Process tab for details.

Absent Work

Students are responsible for all make up work. They will have a period equivalent to the number of days missed plus one to complete all work missed.

Textbooks

Each student will be given a textbook. This book is a consumable, meaning the students will be able to write in it and keep it after the school year is over. The textbook is available online through the Springboard icon in the SSO Portal. If a student loses their book, they will be able to access the online textbook using their Chromebook during class.

Canvas

In Canvas, you will find the weekly assignments, important messages and updates. Each Unit of study has a Pacing Guide, which gives all assignments and assessments by week. Students can find important messages and updates in their Canvas email.

Consequences

A ticket will be taken for each of the following:

- No supplies

- Extra copies of lost work

- Behavior

- Tardy
