The CHAMPS approach to classroom management is to focus on prevention and on teaching expectations to students.
This reguires the teacher to directly teach students how to behave responsibly in each major activity and transition. This is where "CHAMPS" comes in.
CHAMPS stands for:
Conversation-what is the voice level?
Help-how to get it?
Activity-what are we doing?
Movement-when or how can students move around?
Participation-how do the students show they are participating?
Success!!!!
Ask your child to if he or she can tell you when or how students in the class can talk, get help, and get out of their seats. When students follow the CHAMP expections, it leads to success!
