My name is Michelle McClanahan and I am privileged to be the librarian at Sam Houston Elementary.  I am a Denton native and attended Ginnings Elementary, Strickland Jr. High, Denton High School, and The University of North Texas.

This will be my 17th year as a school librarian.  Before becoming a librarian, I taught first and third grades in Lewisville and Denton.  My husband, Steve, is a retired Denton ISD middle school teacher.  We have three wonderful children.  JD & his wife live in Champaign, Illinois, where he works as an urban planner.  Sam and his wife live in Columbia, Missouri, where he is completing a veterinary residency in equine surgery.  Emily is a UNT graduate and works in the hospitality management field.  We are active in our church and also stay busy with our kids and extended families.

I love being part of the Sam Houston family and can't wait to get to know you!
