Meet Dr. Kinard

Hello! My name is Widad Kinard. I have been teaching gifted and talented elementary students for 14 years and LOVE it! Teaching enables me to impact my students and community positively. I enjoy mentoring students and helping them achieve their full potential. Encouraging students to dream big, live with a deep sense of purpose, and teaching them that one person can make a big difference are my passions.  Together, we learn how to think critically, problem-solve, and develop grit.

I am a lifelong learner and hold a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Tarleton State University, and a doctorate in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas. Being an educator is an incredible privilege that enables me to learn from my students and grow in knowledge.

I have been married for 23 years and have two amazing kids. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. We love to watch movies, travel, and volunteer in our community.

I look forward to sharing this year with you and your child. Please feel free to come and talk to me anytime you have questions or concerns.
