Hi! My name is Kari Hawkins! This will be my 17th year teaching here at Blanton Elementary. I spent my first three years teaching Reading/Language Arts in 5th grade. This will be my 14th year teaching 4th grade, and I cannot wait to get started once again!
I was born and raised in the small town of Sanger, Texas. After high school, I attended Texas A&M University, and later transferred to the University of North Texas. I graduated from UNT with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am certified to teach grades 4 - 8, as well as English Language Learners.
My husband and I are blessed with two amazing children. Our creative and vibrant daughter, Kylee, will be a freshman this year! Karsten, our wild and loving son, is a 5th grader! Our children are true blessings and have made our lives complete. They keep us busy with club volleyball and club basketball! We also have a Miniature Australian Shepard, Chewbacca (Chewy for short), who we absolutely adore. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, reading, spending time with my wonderful family and friends, playing with our dog, shopping, and just relaxing.
I am ecstatic to be teaching at a wonderful school like Blanton Elementary. I have high expectations for my students. This school year is going to be very exciting, and I look forward to teaching Noble Knights!!
