Mrs. Fincher's Class

My name is Chrystal Fincher and I am part of the 5th grade team at Sam Houston Elementary. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful school, team, and district! My role in 5th grade will be as your child's Reading, Writing, and SS teacher. 

A Little Bit About Me...

I was born and raised in Denton, Texas. My roots are here! I went to elementary school at Newton Rayzor, then Calhoun Middle School, and finally Denton High School. I attended college at the University of North Texas, where I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. This August will mark my fourteenth teaching year. I am married to another Denton ISD teacher and we have a beautiful, wonderful, sweet girl named Chloe, a handsome, mischievous, snuggly boy named Eli, and a new baby girl, Lorelei. 

For fun, I love reading, crafting, and cooking. I am actively involved in martial arts and have earned my first degree decided black belt in Tae Kwon Do. 

I know we are going to have a fantastic 2023-2024 school year and I feel very blessed to be working with your child this year. I believe in open communication between teachers and parents, so please do not hesitate to contact me at any point during the year if you have questions or concerns. We are on the same team to give your child the best education possible and I look forward to working with you this year!
