Make-up Work policy:
When students are absent, it is their responsibility to get missed work. Upon return to school, students should ask for any missed notes/work at a convenient time, not during instruction time. Timeline for make-up work: Number of days absent plus one day.
2. If a student is absent the day of a test/quiz, the student will take the test/quiz upon return to school.
Reassessment policy: Quizzes will not be reassessed except at my discretion. Tests may be reassessed up to 4 days following the return of the assessment only during tutorials.
In order to reassess a test, you must:
have all homework assignments completed
all test corrections done
attend tutorial sessions before reassessing, The number of required tutoring sessions will be determined by the teacher.
Cell Phones/Electronic Devices: If a phone/device is out when it is not supposed to be, it will be confiscated.
Expectations of the Student:
Students will complete all assignments assigned. Homework/Formative assessments will be counted as a grade and checked daily in class. Homework is extra practice for students to master the necessary objectives for the course. Completing homework will improve and strengthen the students’ understanding of the covered concepts.
Students will work collaboratively throughout the year and are expected to behave appropriately at all times. Respect for personal and public property will be practiced. Any action that is disrespectful, intentionally distracts other students from learning, or violates the student code of conduct, will warrant consequences.
Students are expected to take notes over the material in this class and to read assignments carefully. In the case of absence, it is YOUR responsibility to obtain any handouts and assignments missed and to complete them in a timely manner.
Students are expected to seek help in class by asking questions when you do not understand a topic. If further understanding is needed, you are expected to seek help through tutoring. If no attempt is made, I will have no sympathy and no choice but to give you the grade you deserve.

Journal Check
Journal Checks occur at random intervals throughout the grading period to ensure students are completing their assignments and following the expectations for journal work.
We check three areas for this grade:
-Table of Contents (correct order, headings, pg. numbers, dates)
-Assignment pages (completed work, date, heading, pg. number, correct order)
-Warm Ups (completed work, date, heading, correct order)
Students are responsible for keeping up with their journals. If a student is absent or needs more time they need to show up to tutorials during the teacher provided times. Journals do not leave the classroom for any reason.
Teacher example journals are always available for students to check to ensure they are up to date on their own journal.
***For the 1st 9 weeks students may catch up on their journal work and ensure everything is in the proper place for a recheck and regrade. This applies to the 1st 9 weeks ONLY.**
