My educational philosophy is "everyone deserves a proper music education" and to accomplish this goal, I use the Kodaly teaching method in my music classroom. Zoltan Kodaly sought to make music available to everyone, not just those who can afford music lessons. I truly feel like his thoughts on music education embody that of my own.
“The most urgent task is to make the means of music culture accessible for as many people as possible, primarily through the schools.” - Zoltan Kodaly (1930 pg.27)
Along with Kodaly's methods, I also implement elements from music learning theory. This enhances the learning process by sequencing the introduction of concepts in such a way that it is easy to feel, hear, and see.
