What is Student PTA?

Student PTA is an extra-curricular organization serving as a natural extension of our McMath PTA. These students will have a voice in PTA and be represented by an appointed student at actual Executive PTA Meetings as a board member. Each will hold leadership positions, take part in school and community projects decided upon by THEM, be a point of contact for needs/wants/wishes of school staff and students.

Students must be PTA members to participate but are welcome to join PTA at their 1^st meeting.

Benefits include:

• Gaining and learning about leadership skills
• Working collaboratively with other students and PTA Board towards positive benefits for their school, students and community
• Earning NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) hours
• Able to list on college applications/resumes if in 8^th grade
• Gaining a working understanding of how a PTA Board functions and supports the school
• Learning to communicate effectively
• Learning to be empowered to use their voice In a proactive, positive and powerful way
