Mrs. Segapeli

Gina Segapeli is originally from El Paso, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Music Education. At the University of North Texas, she studied violin with Dr. Felix Olschofka and Rossitza Jekova-Goza. Mrs. Segapeli taught as part of the UNT Strings Project for three years. She has also taught private violin lessons for the past 13 years.

After graduating from the University of North Texas she began her teaching career in Richardson ISD. Gina Segapeli is currently the head director at McMath Middle School in the Denton Independent School District. McMath Orchestra has received several awards such as being awarded “Sweepstakes” at UIL every single year she has taught at McMath, Best Group Overall at Peak Music Festival and Best Group Overall at North Richland Hills Water Park Competition for 9 years in a row. When she began teaching at McMath she had a small program consisting of 80 students. She now has over 170 students in the award winning McMath orchestra program. She is also very involved in the mariachi community and teaches orchestra summer camps in Oklahoma and at the University of North Texas. She enjoys getting to know new people and connecting with the community. She absolutely loves teaching in Denton!

In her free time, Mrs. Segapeli enjoys traveling everywhere she possibly can with her husband and two kids, painting in her home studio and spending quality time with her two cats, Maya and Bagheera.
