Hello! My name is Joan Phillips. I have taught in Denton I.S.D. for 16 years, 14 of which have been at Calhoun Middle School. My primary teaching assignment has always been reading, so I am delighted to move into the position of Reading Intervention.

My home state is Iowa, but I have lived in Texas since 1985. I have a Bachelor's degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. My teacher certification courses were completed at Texas Woman's University. My Master's degree in literacy comes from the University of Texas at Arlington.

I look forward to getting to know and teaching all of my students.
