What is IB PYP?
The IB Primary Years Programme is also known as the PYP. It is for children from ages 3-12. This program is taught at Borman for grades Pre-K through 5th grade. The IB PYP aims to develop students to be caring and active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.
The IB PYP is a transdisciplinary framework that is inquiry based. The purpose of the framework is to challenge students to think for themselves and to take responsibility for their own learning. They learn by exploring local and global issues in real life context and opportunities.
The IB PYP is taught in over 109 countries. The framework of the IB PYP philosophy is adaptable to state and district standards. The framework is guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance.
Where We Are in Place and Time, How we Organize Ourselves, How the World Works, Sharing the Planet, Who We Are, How We Express Ourselves
The IB PYP strives for students to deepen their learning by developing their conceptual understandings and strengthening their knowledge and skills to go across and beyond subject areas
