We will cover the intro to Illustrator, PhotoShop, Animate, and Premiere Pro
Creative students who see themselves designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing or publishing multimedia content will want to pursue courses in the Arts, A/V Technology and Communications Career Cluster.
You will apply artistic talent to practical problems and learn visual arts principles that prepare you with skills and techniques to work in any number of creative design and entertainment fields. We will be using Adobe Suites through out the year.

§130.81. Implementation of
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and
Communications, Adopted 2015.
(a)
The provisions of this subchapter shall be implemented by school districts beginning with the 2017-
2018
school year.
(b)
No later than August 31, 2016, the commissioner of education shall determine whether instructional
materials funding has been made available to Texas public schools for materials that cover the essential
knowledge and skills for career and technical education as adopted in §§130.82
-130.116 of this subchapter.
(c)
If the commissioner makes the determination that instructional materials funding has been made available
under subsection (b) of this section, §§130.82-
130.116 of this subchapter shall be implemented beginning
with the 2017-
2018 school year and apply to the 2017-
2018 and subsequent school years.
(d)
If the commissioner does not make the determination that instructional materials funding has been made
available under subsection (b) of this section, the commissioner shall determine no later than August 31 of
each subsequent school year whether instructional materials funding has been made available. If the
commissioner determines that instructional materials funding has been made available, the commissioner
shall notify the Sta
te Board of Education and school districts that §§130.82-
130.116 of this subchapter shall
be implemented for the following school year.
§130.82. Principles of Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications (One Credit)

(a)
General require
ments. This course is recommended for students in Grade 9.
Students shall be awarded one
credit for successful completion of this course.
(b)
Introduction.
(1)
Career and t
echnical
education instruction provides content aligned with challenging academic
standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills for students to further their education and
succeed in current or emerging professions.
(2)
The Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications
Career
Cluster focuses on careers in
designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing, and publishing multimedia content
including visual and performing arts and design, journalism, and entertainment services.
(3)
Careers in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications C
areer
Cluster require a
creative aptitude, a strong background in computer and technology applications, a strong academic
foundation, and a proficiency in oral and written communication. Within this context, students
will be expected to develop an understanding of the various and
multifaceted career opportunities
in this cluster and the knowledge, skills, and educational requirements for those opportunities.

Students are encouraged to participate in extended learning experiences such as career and
technical student organizatio
ns and other leadership or extracurricular organizations.
