If I write a recommendation letter for you, I want to be able to discuss you as a person, not just as a student. Therefore, if you made fantastic grades, that's simply not enough. Because of the numbers of requests for letters that I get, I will only write them for students who truly deserve them. Before you come see me for a letter, please see below:
Ask yourself these questions:
Was I/am I habitually late to class?
Did I/do I participate actively or contribute positively to my group?
Was I/am I rude and/or obnoxious to others?
Did I/do I bring fast food in all the time and try to eat it in class?
Was I/am I prepared for class by doing the necessary assignments when I was supposed to?
Do I have a significant number of volunteer hours or some evidence of work with charitable organizations?
Please consider your answers to these questions. If you feel you were/are responsible, considerate, and a good teammate in class, then please bring me/send me the following information in your letter request:
What is it you are applying for?
One paragraph about organizations or school accomplishments
One paragraph about organizations or outside of school accomplishments/activities
A link or address to send the letter to
Please understand that I do not give hard copies of letters directly to students. Thank you for helping me help you!
