Language Arts - Early Literacy Inventory, Launch Readers Workshop (Choose from: Folktale, Fables, Fairy Tales, Lullabies, Fiction) and Writer's Workshop (Pre-Assess Narrative and Expository in the first two weeks and then teach Narrative), Print Awareness (Recognize spoken words are represented by print, Identify upper & lower case letters, One to One correspondence, Holding a book correctly, Parts of a book, Recognize difference between a letter and printed word, Recognize sentences are comprised of words and spaces), Phonological Awareness (Generate rhymes, Identify rhyming & non-rhyming words, Sentences are made up a group of words, Syllables), Phonics (Identify common sounds that letter represents, Identify and read high frequency words), Comprehension (Predicting and responding to questions), Vocabulary Development (Identify & using words that name actions, directions, positions, sequences, and locations, identify and sort pictures of objects into categories), Word Study and Spelling (Write Name, Phonological Knowledge to match sounds to letters) and Oral and Written Conventions (Form upper & lower case letters legibly (left to right, top to bottom), Capitalize the first letter in a sentence, Use punctuation at the end of a sentence, and Conventions ( pronoun I, nouns-singular
