I am so excited to be working here at Ginnings this year! Here is a little about me. I am a transplant from Southern California and lived there most of my life. I moved to Denton almost 20 years ago with the only regret being, there's no beach!  I am definitely a beach girl!  I have been in education for over 25 years as  a former elementary school teacher. I have taught 2nd grade, head start, resource, and inclusion. Special education has always been my first love! 

I am the proud mother of 3 adult children  (Lauren, Aaron, and Scarlett) and wife to Pastor Chuck Smith. I also have two of  the most adorable grand children, (Josiah, and Charleigh)! 

My oldest Lauren (and the mother of Josiah and Charleigh), has followed my footsteps as an educator. she is currently a 4th grade teacher.  My youngest (Scarlett), has decided to pursue a career in counseling and my son Aaron is a nurse. We are a family that loves serving others! 

Although I have ventured off into the world of counseling, I could not see myself  working with any other population rather than children!  It has always been my goal to help make a significant impact on their development and well-being. Being here at Ginnings  as  part of the counseling team, is such a wonderful blessing. Together with Mrs. Shoto, I believe we can create a nurturing and supportive environment for everyone here at Ginnings.
