Dungeons and Dragons, aka D&D, is a Role-Playing Game (RPG) that was created in 1974. Players create a character and, as a group, go on adventures in a mythical world.Â
Because D&D is a RPG game, players have to make decision based on how their character would behave based on the class, race, and background of their characters
There have been several editions of the game with many people still playing "Pathfinder", which is version 3.5, however at Calhoun we play 5th edition which is the latest.
Members are divided into 2-3 groups that meet on Thursdays after school from 3:40 to 5:00. Students are encourage to get their own set of game dice (can be purchased online or at any Comic Book store) or download one of the many D&D dice apps but I do have several spare sets that were donated a few years ago.
We have 1 big event at the end of the school years where all 3 teams meet and have a battle royal with only one winner in the end.
This short video should give new players and people thinking about joining an idea of what D&D is all about.
Keep in mind that both the Dungeon Master and the other players are all voice actors.
If you are connected to the school's Wi-Fi the video will show as unavailable.
