I am glad to be at Savannah for my 7th year as the School Counselor! This is my 21st year working for Denton ISD, and my 24th year in education, so it feels strange to say that I will be retiring this year. My B.S. and M.S. degrees are both in Psychology, and I will be pursuing my Professional Counselor's license. I love the inner workings of our minds and emotions.
I've lived in Savannah since June of 2010, and have been teaching at Savannah Elementary since it opened in 2006. I have 2 daughters-28 and 33. One lives P/T in Decatur and the other lives in Louisiana. My mother lives at a nearby nursing home in Celina. I stay busy driving back and forth to Decatur and Celina. :)
In my free time, I'm usually found playing with my pets, working out or going on hikes. I have a small Quaker Parrot named Andy and an English Mastiff named Jack. I most enjoy time spent outdoors in nature. I was lucky enough to be able to walk 500 miles across Spain this summer with my daughter, Peyton. It was the trip of a lifetime! When I am at home, I also enjoy listening to podcasts, reading, meditating, watching documentaries, and spending time with family and friends.
I've had many good years at Savannah Elementary, and I feel grateful to be here. :) My heart stays full, and I wholeheartedly love helping kiddos every day.
