BMMS GOAL

Our Mission

Real Myers FC promotes a holistic development of our members through soccer and skills building in academics, behavior, and leadership.

INTRODUCTION

Guys/Girls Operating as Leaders (GOAL) is a Denton ISD initiative that started 6 years ago. It was designed for Hispanic middle school students who have been identified as at risk. The initiative was originally promoted among boys who were second language learners. Through soccer students are to receive physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Bettye Myers MS joined GOAL in the 2013-2014 school year through Real Myers Football Club. The school embraced the GOAL’s objectives and emphasized academic achievement. Students are motivated to pass their classes and demonstrate positive behaviors throughout school.

OBJECTIVES

  • Maintain attendance to classes

  • Avoid discipline referrals

  • Promote higher education and/or career tracks

  • Promote placement in enhanced coursework

  • Promotion of leadership qualities
