Meet the Teacher 

My name is John Thompson, and this will be my 10th year teaching art in Denton ISD. I hold a BFA in Drawing & Painting and a Masters in Art Education from the University of North Texas. 

Outside the SMS art studio I have a lovely wife, Kalah, who also teaches at SMS as an 8th grade ELAR teacher. We have three dogs- Lou, Vonn, and Nella. I've trained martial arts for 30 years. I'm also working diligently on my graphic novel which I hope to self publish.
