Meet the Teachers!

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Mayra E. Rodríguez Zúñiga y este año escolar será mi séptimo año como maestra de Kinder y mi décimo primer año en general. Nací en San Luis Potosí, Mexico pero he vivido toda mi vida en Texas. Estado casada con mi esposo por 14 años y juntos tenemos un hijo de 13 años y una hija de 6 años. Me encanta el café, la comida Mexicana, el chocolate, ver películas, leer libros y escuchar música. Mientras en el salón me gusta formar una conexión con los estudiantes por medio de las pláticas y conocer todo lo que pueda sobre ellos. Estoy emocionada por conocer a los estudiantes y empezar este año escolar. ¡Juntos brillaremos!

Hello! My name is Mayra E. Rodríguez Zúñiga and this will be my 7th year in Kinder but my 11th year as a teacher. I was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico but have lived most of my life in Texas. I have been married to my husband for 14 years and together we have a 13 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I love coffee, Mexican food, chocolates, watching movies, reading books and listening to music. During the school year I love to form connections with the students through conversations so that I may learn as much as I can about them. I am excited to meet the students and begin this school year. Together we will shine!!

Hi I’m Madison Gullekson and this is my first year in Denton ISD and my first year teaching! I recently graduated from Tarleton State University with a a degree in early childhood education. I am a dog and cat mom, love Reece’s minis, thrifting, and music. I’m so excited to be joining the Alice Moore Alexander Elementary community this school year!!! Can’t wait to meet all our kindergarteners in a few short weeks!

Hola, soy Adriana Renovato y soy una de las tres maestras bilingües de Kínder. Tengo 12 años en la escuela de Alice Moore Alexander Elementary. Me gusta mucho ver los niños ser más independientes y más seguros en ellos mismos. Tengo un esposo y un hijo. Me encanta bailar, escuchar música, y cocinar. Estoy lista para conocer a mis nuevos pollitos.

My name is Stephanie Soto and this will be my seventh year at the amazing Alexander Elementary. I’m a mom to a kind hearted 2nd grader. You could say I have a slight obsession when it comes to Whataburger, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Target. I am eager to meet this new bunch of kindergarteners and witness the mess, laughter, learning, and growth that will take place this school year!

Hi everyone! My name is Elise Gerten. I grew up in a big family in Nebraska before beginning my teaching career in Houston four years ago. My fiancé, our dog, and I recently moved to town and are excited to get to know the Denton community! In my classroom, students build friendships and have fun learning by dancing, laughing together, playing games, and cheering each other on. In my free time I enjoy cooking, learning sign language & Spanish, gardening, and spending time outdoors. I look forward to getting to know your family soon!
