I'm so excited to have you in my science class! I've lived in four states and three countries before moving to Texas in 2021. I attended Union College in New York, where I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Math and German. After graduating, I worked as a Pharmaceutical Research Scientist, but my dream was always to teach, so when the COVID-19 pandemic began, I started taking online classes to obtain my teaching certification. I have two children, April and Jon, and being a mom is the only thing I love more than teaching! My original baby was my cat, Jack, who I rescued in 2017. I look forward getting to know you better and helping you reach your academic goals in the short time we have together!
I've been asked why I wanted to work at a DAEP. My motivation stems from my favorite quote by Maria Robinson: “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” I believe students should know it doesn't matter what decisions you've made in your past, what's important is the decisions you make going forward. Your current actions and attitude determine your future, and if you want to make a positive change in your life then nothing in your past should hold you back from doing so. My position here at the Davis School is to help you reach whatever life goals you have. While you might not understand how science can assist you in achieving your dreams, I'm here to show you it can.
The past, present and future walked into a bar.
It was tense.
