csorrells@dentonisd.orgHello! I’m Ms. Sorrells, and I am thrilled to teach 5th grade at Cross Oaks for another fantastic year! I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2023 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
At home, I enjoy life with my two fur babies and my fiancée. Outside the classroom, I love cooking, watching reality TV, spending time with family, and exploring new hobbies.

I’ve been married to Doug Burr for 29 years. We have four kids: Juliet, Jake, Jude, and Jolie. We also have a Himalayan cat named Catniss, a bunny named Giselle, and a new addition—a Chihuahua mix named Rocket!
This will be my 10th year teaching, but my 3rd as an elementary teacher at Cross Oaks. I am so excited to meet you all! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns!

sbruni@dentonisd.orgWelcome! I’m Mrs. Bruni, and I’m so excited to be joining Cross Oaks Elementary this year! I have four years of experience teaching 5th grade, and I truly love this age group—it’s such a fun and important time in students’ lives. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas and recently moved to the area.
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and friends. At home, I have a wonderful fiancé and two lovable dogs, Merlin and Trooper, who always keep life interesting! I also have a daughter in college, and I’m incredibly proud of all she’s accomplishing.
I’m looking forward to an amazing year full of learning, growth, and fun. I can’t wait to get to know you and your family!
