Hello! I’m Mrs. Sorrells, and I am thrilled to teach 5th grade at Cross Oaks for another fantastic year! I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2023 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
At home, I enjoy life with my two fur babies and my wife. Outside the classroom, I love cooking, watching reality TV, spending time with family, and exploring new hobbies.

kburr@dentonisd.org5th Grade ELAR (Switch with Bell)Hello! I'm Mrs. Burr I’m so excited to teaching at Cross Oaks for another exciting year. I am a Texas girl! Born in Dallas, Lived in Krum, went to Liberty Christian School in Denton, and graduated from the University of Alabama! Roll Tide!
I’ve been married to Doug Burr for 29 years. We have four kids: Juliet, Jake, Jude, and Jolie. We also have a Himalayan cat named Catniss and a Chihuahua mix named Rocket!
This will be my 11th year teaching, but my 4th as an elementary teacher at Cross Oaks. I am so excited to meet you all! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns!
