Ms. Lockett's Class Social Contract
The social contract was developed by our students and is the basis on how they want to be treated by the teacher, how they want to be treated by each other, how they think the teacher wants to be treated, and how should they handle conflict. They came up with some really powerful words!! :) This is a working/real time document and as different situations arise, more words may be added. When a student breaks part of the social contract they will have an opportunity to get back on track. We will use a 4 question system:
1) What are you doing?
2) What are you supposed to be doing?
3) Are you doing it?
4) What are you going to do about it?
These probing questions are to help the student recognize what they are doing and to adjust their behavior. If the behavior persists, then further action such as a logical consequence, note/call home, or office visit.
