Welcome! This is my 17th year as an educator and 5th year as a first grade teacher! Teaching is my passion. Helping students reach their goals and discover new things in this world fills me with joy.

When I am not at school I enjoy hiking with my husband, loving on my two teenage daughters, learning, and enjoying coffee with friends.

I am thrilled to partner with you in your child's education.

Haley Dern

Hi there, my name is Haley Dern and this year is my 2nd year here at Newton Rayzor. After teaching 4th and 5th grade last year this is my first year in 1st grade, and I am SO excited to get to learn with some amazing students! When I'm not at school you could probably find me painting, roller skating, hanging out with my cat Winnie, or searching for the best tacos in DFW. I can already tell this year is going to be fantastic!

Da la casualidad de que asistí a esta misma escuela durante mis años de primaria. Tengo 11 años ensenando en Newton Rayzor. ¡En espera de un gran año escolar!

Welcome to first grade!

It is a pleasure to get to know you and look forward to being part of your learning development. I was born in Mexico and attended kindergarten and first grade in Mexico. When my family moved to Texas I went to elementary school at this very same school! This is my eleventh-year teaching here at Newton Rayzor and I look forward to a great school year.

This will be my 7th year teaching 1st grade. I have lived in Denton my whole life and I love being a part of this community.

Kimberly Rose

Hi! My name is Kimberly Rose, and I am so glad to be a part of the 1st grade team this year! This will be my 6th year but my 1st year in first. I love to read, draw and to spend time with my husband and 9 month old daughter. This is going to be a great year!
