I am Mrs. Bass, the Gifted and Talented Specialist here at Town Center. This is my second year at Town Center and my 21st year in education. Prior to moving to Texas, I had the opportunity to teach grades 3, 4 and 5 in South Carolina, 5 years of which were with GT learners exclusively.
I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Elementary Education. I then earned a Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education from USC in May of 1998. In 2002, I became a Nationally Board Certified teacher. Getting the shock of a lifetime in a very humbling way, I was the recipient of the National Milken Educators Award in October of 2008. I achieved National Board Re-Certification 2012. In addition, I am certified in Gifted Education and English as a Second Language.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, which includes my husband, and our three children, Grace (15), Trey (13), and Laney (9). I also enjoy spending time shopping, and snuggling up with a great book.
