  • WHEN and WHERE will EdCamp Grow take place?
    • Saturday, December 8th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
    • Memorial Early College High School (MECHS) 1419 N. Business IH 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130 (meet in the cafeteria).
  • Who can attend EdCamp Grow?
    • Any educator from in or out of district may register and attend. This includes classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, office staff, CICs, and administrators.
  • What type of credit will I receive for attending?
    • All attendees will receive 3 Texas SBEC CPE/Exchange credits, great knowledge and possibly some amazing door prizes!
  • Is this a technology-specific professional development opportunity?
    • No! There will be sessions on all topics in education. YOU will decide!
  • What do sessions at an EdCamp look like?
    • There are no "canned presentations" or pre-fab speeches. EdCamp sessions are meant to be discussions with a group of people who are working to solve a problem or learn something new collaboratively. There's no "presenter" at an EdCamp session - just a room full of people with ideas!
  • What will I do when I arrive?
    • Upon arrival, you will be given sticky notes to fill out on topics you want to discuss. If you don't want to start the conversation, don't worry! You are welcome to just rotate through the rooms to listen and add your thoughts throughout the day.
  • What do I need to bring with me the day of the event?
    • Please bring a device with you (laptop, iPad, smartphone) for taking notes, participating in activities and filling out the evaluation at the end-of-day. You may also want to bring a light sweater in case the rooms are chilly.
  • What is the plan for breakfast?
    • Breakfast will be served. Feel free to snack on the breakfast all throughout the morning.
  • Why should I attend EdCamp Grow?
    • This is an "unconference", unlike any other PD we're ever had where the sessions are created FOR the attendees, BY the attendees. This day will allow you to communicate and collaborate on topics of YOUR choosing with other educators from all over.
