Danielle Aicher is the Director of Bands at Bulverde Middle School where she leads the Honors Band and Jazz Band, co-teaches the Symphonic Band, and provides instruction for beginning woodwind and percussion classes. Before coming to BMS, Mrs. Aicher served the Driscoll Middle School community in NEISD for 10 years where she was named the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year. Her bands consistently earn “Sweepstakes” at the UIL Concert and Sight-reading Evaluation and “Outstanding Performance” awards at the TLU Band Festival. The Driscoll Honors Band was named a TMEA State Honor Band finalist in 2018 and was named the 2017 Exemplary Middle School Band Program by the Texas Bandmasters Association, an award given to one middle school in Texas each year.
Prior to teaching in North East, Mrs. Aicher began her career at Lamar Middle School in the Marcus High School cluster in Lewisville ISD. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree with summa cum laude honors from the University of Houston Moores School of Music. Mrs. Aicher studied instrumental methods with John Benzer and served as Principal Flutist in the University of Houston Wind Ensemble under the direction of Tom Bennett.
Mrs. Aicher is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honors Society. In recognition of her dedication to students and community, she was honored with a Texas PTA Lifetime Membership in 2017. Outside the classroom, she performs with SAHarmonie, a San Antonio-based chamber ensemble under the direction of Dr. Brett Richardson.
When she’s not making music, Mrs. Aicher loves adventuring outdoors with her husband and two sons. From rollerblading and biking to cheering on her boys in the SAFC Pro Academy, weekends are all about family and fun.
Taylor Lovato-Cruz is the Assistant Band Director at Bulverde Middle School where she conducts the Symphonic Band, teaches the beginning brass classes, and assists with the Honors Band. Prior to coming to Comal ISD, she was the Assistant Band Director at Jackson Middle School in NEISD.
Ms. Lovato-Cruz is a San Antonio native where she attended Claudia Taylor Johnson High School. In 2023, Ms. Lovato-Cruz went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. While at Texas State, she studied horn with Dr. Caroline Steiger and performed as principal horn with the Texas State Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. Caroline Beatty and Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Jacob Harrison. Ms. Lovato-Cruz was also a member of the Bobcat Marching Band as section leader and drum major. Prior to graduating, she received the award for Outstanding Senior in Instrumental Music Education.
Ms. Lovato-Cruz’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the International Horn Society. In her free time, she enjoys watching new TV shows and movies, attending concerts, and spending time with her family, friends, and cat, Hermes.
