We are a multidisciplinary group of senior ECE students from Clemson University, bringing together the combined skills of two Computer Engineers and three Electrical Engineers. As a team, we are focused on integrating hardware, software, and control systems to develop innovative, reliable solutions. With graduation on the horizon, we are using this project to apply the full range of our technical experience from embedded systems and software design to circuit development and system integration. Our diverse backgrounds and collaborative approach allow us to tackle complex challenges from multiple perspectives, ensuring a well-rounded and high-performing final design.
Our team’s goal for this project is to design and build an autonomous tabletop bowling system that combines precise mechatronic control with intelligent decision-making. Using a camera based sensing system and a custom MATLAB driven interface, the robot determines pin locations and executes accurate bowling shots based on user selections from a graphical user interface. The system must perform efficiently, quietly, and safely while demonstrating smooth closed-loop motion control and reliable image recognition. Ultimately, this project integrates mechanical design, control systems, and computer vision to create a user-friendly, fully automated bowling experience that translates real-world inputs into strategic robotic motion.
