2023 SC 4-H Poultry Project Opportunities

September 2, 2023 NPIP testing starting at 10am. Following a break for lunch, a showmanship clinic will follow. We are currently confirming  the location and will update this site by the first of August with further details. Contact Dawn Stuckey at dstucke@clemson.edu with questions.

Scheduled for August 24th, 5-7PM at the East Carolina Fairgrounds in Florence

Scheduled for August 7th, 1-6PM at the Chester Market Building (116 Columbia Street, Chester SC). Testing and the clinic are free for 4-H members. Required Registration HERE

Scheduled for August 4, 1-6pm at the Abbeville Co Clemson Extension Office (265 Industrial Park Rd) Free event, registration/confirm by emailing Jenny Mountford at grier@clemson.edu 

Scheduled for August 1st , 10AM-2PM at the Saluda Extension Office  (201 E Church Street, Saluda SC). NPIP testing is free for 4-H members. NOTE THAT THIS IS NPIP TESTING ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SHOWMANSHIP CLINIC. Email Lauren Black at LBlack4@clemson.edu for more information. Please note that since blood testing is good for 90 days, this early testing opportunity will carry your bird through and shows on or before October 30, 2023. If you attend shows in November you would need a second test later.

  This show will be held at Old Paths Farm - 144 Strawberry Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.  Registration is now open and can be accessed by clicking HERE

  This show in Spartanburg, SC is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th. Registration/Show information can be found HERE

4-H Poultry Showmanship classes will start at 4:00pm on Oct. 18. Check-in starts at 3:30pm. Show is open to SC 4-H Poultry Project participants only. For show info follow this link: https://itsmyfair.com/livestock/  Pre-Registration is NOT required for this show. Simply arrive 30 minutes before the start of the show and come to the main table.

Mark your calendars for the premiere showmanship event of the season. The South Carolina State Fair 4-H Poultry Showmanship will be on October 21st beginning at 10:00AM. Registration deadline is October 7. Access Registration Information HERE
