Having a Growth Mindset
Learning is a journey. Thus, students grow through discipline, practice, and persistence. In my classroom, I emphasize a strong focus in classroom routines, clear expectations, and meaningful math work that challenges the way we think. Middle school is a time of growth, and it’s normal for students to ask questions and stretch their current understandings. I encourage students to face challenges head-on, stay flexible, and believe in their ability to improve every day.
My Approach to Teaching Math
In my classroom, math is about more than just answers—it’s about curiosity, creativity, and growth. I believe students learn best when they have access to different ways of thinking: stories, classroom discourse, questions, and real-world problems. Learning math takes effort and courage, and I’m here to guide students through the tough days and celebrate the breakthroughs. With the right tools and support, every student can succeed!
