Greetings of the day:
0000-1159 – “Good Morning, Sir/Ma'am/Rank Last Name”
1200-1659 – “Good Afternoon, Sir/Ma'am/Rank Last Name”
1700-2359 – “Good Evening, Sir/Ma'am/Rank Last Name”
Multiple males should be addressed as “gentlemen," and multiple females should be addressed as “ladies.”
Females should be greeted before males if both are the same rank, otherwise, rank supersedes gender. Greet the person with the highest rank first.
Salute while greeting outside, but not inside
Always greet using the person's rank and last name, or sir/ma'am if you do not know it
As a cadet, you will always salute any commissioned officer of any branch. In addition, as an AS200 you will salute a member of the POC followed by the greeting of the day. If you are an AS 100 you will only render the greeting of the day. A proper salute and greeting will always be rendered unless one of the parties has a physical incapacity, they are indoors (with exceptions), or you are in a designated "no salute" zone.
You will never salute a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) or another GMC cadet.
The junior member always initiates the salute and does not drop their salute until the senior member has returned the salute.
Formally reporting in:
Knock on the door once.
Take the most direct route using facing movements to get there once the cadet/officer says "enter."
Render the greeting of the day, and say "Cadet ____ reports as ordered," or "Cadet ____ reports" if there was no setup meeting.
After finishing the meeting, stand up and say, "Will that be all sir/ma'am?"
Take one step back with your right foot.
Render the greeting of the day
Make facing movements as you exit using the most direct route to the door.
You will have to report in before answering your warrior knowledge at LLAB
Salute, render the greeting of the day, and say "Cadet ____ reports as ordered."
Drop salute after the POC drops their salute.
At the end of the conversation, ask "Will that be all, ma'am/sir?"
After the POC states that that is all, take a step back with your right foot, salute, and render the greeting of the day.
