When parking, please drive all the way into "the horseshoe" to maximize parking within it.
Parking along the side of the road is NOT allowed.
If the horseshoe fills up, parking will also be available at Lawerence Chapel United Methodist Church (2101 Six Mile Highway, Central, SC 29630) This option is a 0.7-mile walk to the starting line along Old 6 Mile Road.
The entire race is completely FREE!
However, if you are able, please bring snacks to share!
There will be porta-johns, but restrooms are limited, so please use the restroom before you come.
Water will be available on the course, but make sure you bring extra in case we run out!
The 10k course is a classic Experimental Forest Loop that descends down to Lake Issequeena and follows the lake before climbing back up to the highpoint at the finish line!
First, a gradual, mostly downhill section that leads to the lake.
Second, a beautiful, flat two miles with gorgeous views of the lake.
Then finally, a slow, gradual, snaking uphill that suddenly turns very steep about ~.66 miles from the finish line
Be sure to save some in the tank for this last uphill!
This year's Half Marathon and Full Marathon will follow the same route, with the half Marathon running one lap and the Full Marathon will run two laps.
The first 6 miles of the loop will follow the 10K course
After the 10k loop, you've completed just under half of the course (6 miles) and can use the aid station and bathrooms there.
There will be no more bathrooms along the course.
The second half of the loop will follow more difficult trails in the "Waterfalls" and the "Keowee Heights" areas.
Awesome Views of Lake Hartwell
You will have to do a small amount of road running. We will have cones out but please be considerate of cars. There is another aid station at miles 8.3 and 21.4 at the end of the road.
The finish is a long, almost a mile uphill. You can do it!!!
T-shirts are the driving force of how we are host the race for free. Every shirt purchased helps us put on this event for future years. Thanks to everyone who buys a t-shirt!
