About 4-H Pullets

Looking for that perfect egg laying chicken?

Look no further than these chickens raised by our own SC 4-H members!

These day-old chickens came from a National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) Hatchery in May 2021, and have been lovingly raised by our own SC 4-H members.

These “ready-to-lay” chickens are 6 months of age in November 2021, saving you all the work of brooding and feeding until laying age! All you have to do is get the frying pan ready to start cooking those eggs.

When purchasing a 4-H members’ chickens you are supporting SC 4-H Poultry Projects. The money received goes back to the SC 4-H Pullet Chain Project so that 4-H members next year have an opportunity to learn about and raise chickens.

The breeds raised by 4-H members are Golden Comets, Barred Plymouth Rocks, and Rhode Island Reds which are all brown egg layers.

If you are interested in purchasing these fine chickens and supporting 4-H please register to bid during the November 2021 auction or contact your Clemson University County Extension 4-H Agent for details
