The International Symposium: "Transitions and the Culture of Coal” is a gathering of scholars and writers pursuing interdisciplinary perspectives on the massive impact of coalmining in Wales, the US, and Japan. The aim is to develop comparative approaches to the histories and legacies of coal. The conference marks the culmination of Prof. Ryota Nishi’s year at Swansea University as a Richard Burton Centre International Fellow. It has been organized in collaboration with Dr. Nia Davies and Professor Daniel G. Williams.
We have a keynote lecture by Rachel Trezise on 28th and by Norena Shopland on 29th, as well as sessions with speakers from Wales, the US, and Japan. Please come and join the discussion.
Bydd “Y Symposiwm Rhyngwladol: Trawsffurfiadau Diwylliannol yn y Meysydd Glo” yn dod a ysgolheigion a llenorion at ei gilydd er mwyn datblygu safbwyntiau rhyngddisgyblaethol a chymharol ar effaith anferthol y diwydiant glo yng Nghymru, UDA a Siapan. Daw cyfnod yr Athro Ryota Nishi fel Cymrodor Rhyngwladol yng Nghanolfan Richard Burton i ben gyda’r gynhadledd hon. Trefnwyd ar y cyd gyda’r Dr. Nia Davies a’r Athro Daniel G. Williams. Cyflwynir prif ddarlithiau gan Rachel Trezise ar yr 28ain a gan Norena Shopland ar 29ain, yn ogystal â sesiynau gyda siaradwyr o Gymru, yr Unol Daleithiau, a Siapan. Dewch i ymuno â'r drafodaeth.
