概要（Course Description ）

This Seminar will deepens understanding of the legal systems and policies related to global economic activities. While paying attentions to the relationship with business, utilizing knowledge of legal systems and policies, we will find questions and challenges in global management and issues, and think about solutions thereof.

このゼミでは、グローバルな経済活動に関連する法制度や政策への理解を深めます。そのなかで、実務とのかかわりを重視し、法制度や政策の知識を活かしながら、グローバル経営や地球規模の課題を見つけ、その解決について考えていきます。

Specifically, "what", "how", and what kind of "community" do we learn in?

具体的に、「何を」「どのように」、どのような「コミュニティ」のなかで学んでいくのでしょうか。

“What” to study

There is a wide range of "legal systems and policies related to global economic activities" to be learned.

As a group or individual, we will decide what kind of field to deepen while approaching to the business of interest. The following are examples of businesses and legal systems+ policies that have been taken up in group work so far.

・ Strategy of automobile manufacturers in Asian markets x free trade agreement (especially tariffs)

・ Innovative, global meat business x Free Trade Agreement (tariffs, sanitary quarantine system)

・ Infectious disease countermeasures as a business (vaccine supply) x intellectual property right

・ Ideal e-commerce business x consumer protection

・ Airport business x public-private partnership system

In addition, since the instructor's specialty is international economic law and foreign economic policy, there is also an opportunity to learn this (for details, see Seminar III (3rd year fall semester) in "how to study").

First of all, the students will accumulate knowledge of the target fields covered in the group work of Seminars I to III. At the same time, in any field of business, legal system, or policy is taken up, a series of research themes, research questions, analysis methods, data collection, research, analysis, organization, and consideration are carried out. The students will acquire the research method, which is necessary for all research activities, and it will be a useful problem-solving ability even after going out into society, and it will be a common asset for the students in this Seminar.

After that, in the Seminars IV and V, and graduation thesis that individuals work on, each student will freely choose a theme and proceed with one’s research by making use of the research methods acquired during Seminars I-III.

「何を」学ぶか

学ぶ対象である「グローバルな経済活動に関連する法制度や政策」は幅広いです。

グループや個人で、どのような分野を深めるか、関心があるビジネスに引き寄せながら決めていきます。これまでのグループワークで取り上げられたビジネスと法制度・政策の例は次のとおりです。

・自動車メーカーのアジア戦略×自由貿易協定（特に関税）

・イノベーティブ＆グローバルな食肉ビジネス×自由貿易協定（関税、衛生検疫制度）

・ビジネスとしての感染症対策（ワクチン供給）×知的財産権

・理想の電子商取引ビジネス×消費者保護制度

・空港ビジネス×官民連携に関わる制度

また、担当教員の専門は、国際経済法や対外経済政策ですので、これを学ぶ機会もあります（詳細は「どのように学ぶか」の専門演習III （3年次秋学期）参照）。

まずは専門演習I～IIIのグループワークで取り上げる対象分野の知識を蓄積します。同時に、どのような分野のビジネスや法制度・政策を取り上げる場合にも、研究テーマを定め、リサーチクエスチョンを設定し、分析方法を決め、資料収集や調査、分析・整理・考察を進めるという、一連の研究手法を身に着けることになります。これは、全ての研究活動に必要となりますし、社会に出てからも有用な課題解決能力となり、ゼミ生が共通して得る資産となります。

その後、個人が取り組む専門演習IV・V、卒業論文では、身に着けた研究手法を活かし、自由にテーマを選んで研究を進めていただきます。

How to study

Seminars will be held face-to-face. Attendance once a week is required through Seminars I to V.

The presentation will be in English. Discussions and lectures by outside experts are held in Japanese and English as appropriate, with the aim of understanding and participating in all the students.

The outline for each semester will be shown by the instructor, but the students are responsible for management of the Seminar. The Seminar Leader and the members in charge will also decide the procedure each time, decide the schedule through the Semester, and carry out activities outside the Seminar.

Seminars I to III (2nd to 3rd year) are carried out by group-works. Each group will set themes and research questions, and pursue answers while conducting literature surveys, interview surveys, and/or questionnaire surveys.

Seminar I (2nd year fall semester)

Organize groups by the business of each student’s interest (industry, market, etc.). Each group set up research question assuming business development, and proceed with research, make presentations every few times during the Seminar meetings, and exchange discussions. Asking constructive questions and comments to other groups' presentations is also an important process.

Seminar II (3rd year spring semester)

Special project.

In 2022, the Seminar will take up "smart cities" as a common theme, and work on issues based on whether each group will focus on the aspects of smart cities and where they are expected to develop.

Seminar III (3rd year fall semester)

Carry out group work focusing on international economic law. Each group conducts research on different fields of international economic law.

All Seminar members are strongly recommended to take the specialized subject "International Economic Transactions and Law" by the instructor.

Seminars IV- V (4th year Spring / Autumn Semester)

Each student will carry out research for graduation thesis. Students will make presentations to report the progress, all the seminar students will have discussions during the Seminar meetings.

「どのように」学ぶか

ゼミは対面で実施します。専門演習I～Vを通して週１回の出席が必須です。

プレゼンテーションは英語で行います。ディスカッションおよび外部の方の講義などは適宜日本語と英語で行い、ゼミ生全員の理解と参加を目指しています。

学期ごとの大枠は担当教員から示しますが、運営は基本的にゼミ生に任せています。毎回の進行や学期を通じてのスケジュールの決定、ゼミ外での活動などもゼミ長および担当者が行います。

専門演習I～III（2年次～3年次）はグループワークです。グループ単位でテーマやリサーチクエスチョンを設定し、先行研究を含む文献調査、インタビュー調査、アンケート調査などを進めながら答えを追い求めていきます。

専門演習I（2年次秋学期）

関心のあるビジネス（業種、市場など）によってグループを編成します。ビジネス展開を想定してリサーチクエスチョンを設定し、調査研究を進め、ゼミの時間には数回ごとに発表をし、議論を交わします。他のグループのプレゼンテーションに対して建設的な質問やコメントを発言することも重要なプロセスです。

専門演習II（3年次春学期）

特別プロジェクトを行います。

2022年度は、「スマートシティ」を共通テーマとして取り上げ、チームごとにスマートシティのどの側面に注目するか、どの場所での展開を想定するかなどを踏まえて課題に取り組みます。

専門演習III（3年次秋学期）

国際経済法にフォーカスしたグループワークを行います。グループごとに、国際経済法の異なる分野に関する研究を行います。

並行して、専門科目「国際経済取引と法」の履修を強く薦めます。

専門演習IV・V（4年次春・秋学期）

卒業論文のための研究を各自が行っていきます。ゼミの時間に担当者が進捗を発表し、ゼミ生全員で議論を重ねます。

"Community" to study

Seminars are usually held by grade. In the seminar community, you will learn to respect the seminar time and the opinions of other members, and to contribute enthusiastically to productive activities.

We will also provide many opportunities for learning and socializing across grades.

The "Community" of his Seminar includes professionals and experts supportive to the Seminar activities. where acquaintances outside the university of the instructor also support the activities of the seminar.

As mentioned in the "Special Notes", the Seminar have invited many professionals, and the students in charge have been working for those opportunities. Other GLOMAC students including first-year students were invited for some occasions.

In addition, seminar students will take the initiative in conducting special projects and activities such as public relations and exchanges. Through a series of processes of planning, implementation, and review, the students will acquire practical project management skills as well as understanding the contents (so-called PBL: Project Based Learning). This is also the strength of the “Community" of this Seminar.

The Seminar has been planning possible projects under the influence of COVID-19, such as study sessions and social gatherings. In the future, let’s plan to go out of the campus and see the site, such as visiting more companies and institutions.

In addition to the Seminar activities, some companies and offices who support the Seminar activities accept students as part-time jobs and internships.

The students are welcome to study and work together to create the "History of Seminars" towards the future.

どのような「コミュニティ」で学ぶか

ゼミは通常、学年別に行います。ゼミというコミュニティのなかで、ゼミの時間や他のメンバーの意見を尊重する姿勢、生産的な活動のために自ら熱意をもって貢献することを学びます。

学年をまたいで学習や懇親を行う機会も多く設けます。

ゼミの活動を応援してくださる学外のプロフェッショナル・実務家の方々もこのゼミの「コミュニティ」です。

「特記事項」にあるとおり、これまでも多くの方々を、担当のゼミ生が中心となりお招きしてきました。学部１年生などゼミ生以外の方々に出席してもらうこともありました。

また、ゼミの特別企画や広報・交流などの活動なども、ゼミ生が主体的に実施していきます。計画・実施・レビューという一連のプロセスを経て、内容面の理解とともに実務的なプロジェクトマネジメントのスキルを獲得します（いわゆるPBLです）。これが、このゼミの「コミュニティ」の強みでもあります。

これまで、合宿に代えての勉強会や懇親会など、コロナ禍のもと可能な企画を行ってきました。今後、より多く、企業や機関の訪問など、キャンパス外を出て現場を見る企画もできればと思います。

ゼミの活動以外にも、ゼミの活動を応援してくださる方々の会社や事務所で、ゼミ生をアルバイトやインターンとして受け入れていただいています。

これからの「ゼミの歴史」を一緒に作っていってくださる方々を歓迎します。
