The Baldwin-Whitehall Engineering Club is a parent-led organization with the goal of bringing engineering concepts to elementary school kids primarily through the use of Lego. Below can read a little bit about the core team who are running the club
Hi! A little about me. I am a computer geek for a living and a technology enthusiast, but above all else I am a proud Dad. I've got 3 wonderful children, Jack (8), Kaylee (6), and Sarah (3) and I am married to my highschool girlfriend, Carey. Once my son started school I was inspired by those parents in the community that dedicated their time and money into helping the schools. I wanted to help in some way too, so I created Facebook group for the parents of our school district, BWSD Community, to provide a safe space for parents to discuss and to further foster community engagement. I wanted to contribute directly to the kids and with my technology background the Lego Club was a perfect way to do that. Feel free to reach out to me with questions or just to say hi bwsdJack@gmail.com. You can also check out my kid's website http://wecreatorsthree.com
Club Core Team:
Graduate of Baldwin High School and resident. I have a passion for Legos and Engineering although technology is my career choice. I am excited to be assisting with this club that can enrich the lives of the students through the engineering process. The Engineering process goes far beyond physically making objects and can extend to every aspect of life. Through this club our hope is to teach engineering techniques but most of all to have fun and be creative. Let's face it if people wouldn't be creative with designs on things we use each day then we would all live in the same type of house, drive the same type of vehicle, and cities/towns would look the same.
