HEAD COACH
Coach Buckholt is in her eighth year at Azle High School. Buckholt grew up playing volleyball across the Fort Worth area and is an alumna of Western Hills High School. Buckholt holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from Southern Nazarene University. While at SNU, she helped the Crimson Storm to an appearance at NCCAA Nationals, 3 NCAA GAC Tournament appearances, and an NCAA GAC Championship in 2016. Buckholt also holds a M.S. in Kinesiology from Texas Woman's University where she studied sports psychology and sports management. Off the court, Buckholt is the department chair for PE and Health and serves as the Assistant Athletic Coordinator for Azle High School Athletics. Outside of Azle, Buckholt is actively involved in club volleyball in the DFW area. When she isn't coaching she enjoys swimming, crafting, traveling, and spending time with her husband Victor, daughter Aida, and two dogs Oakley and June.
VARSITY ASSISTANT
This will be Coach Crafton's third year in Azle I.S.D. Crafton will be teaching physical education while coaching volleyball. Previously, she served as the head volleyball coach at Boyd High School where she lead teams to several district championships and two state tournament appearances. As a player, Crafton collected several accolades including a state tournament appearance in high school as well as a place in the Faulkner Univiersity Athletic Hall of Fame for her college volleyball performance. Coach Crafton is looking forward to the opportunity to help continue to build a growing Hornet volleyball program. Crafton currently lives in Azle with her husband James (also our head boys basketball coach!) and their son Luka.
JUNIOR VARSITY
Coach McNulty is going into her second year at AHS as our junior varsity coach. She is originally from State College, PA, where she was a three-year member of the Varsity volleyball team that appeared in PIAA state playoffs each year of her tenure. She went on to play volleyball and study Education at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA, where she garnered several team and individual accolades including NCCAA National Tournament Team, NCAA PAC 1st Team, Female Student-Athlete of the Year, and holds the program record for aces in a single season. She moved to Texas in 2019, where she started her teaching career. She went on to earn her M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Wesleyan University in 2021. She has since taught at both the elementary and middle school levels. At AHS, she will be teaching Floral Design, and, in addition to volleyball, will be coaching junior varsity soccer. Coach McNulty is an avid reader, triathlete, club volleyball coach, and loves exploring state and national parks. She lives in Fort Worth with her fiancé, Taylor, and their dog, Rooster.
FRESHMAN
With 25 years of teaching and coaching experience, Coach Little is beginning her fourth year at Azle High School. She is an alumna of Burleson High School, where she lettered in both volleyball and soccer. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English as well as her Master of Science degree in Education at Harding University. Coach Little has taught a variety of high school and college level literature and composition courses, and she currently teaches English III. She also coaches junior varsity soccer. Coach Little is a Fort Worth resident and her hobbies include gardening, travel, trying new restaurants, and playing in the women's league of the Fort Worth Adult Soccer Association.
FRESHMAN
Coach Valdez is starting her first year with Azle ISD, teaching biology and coaching freshman. She grew up in West Texas graduating from Lake View High school where she led her team to playoffs ending a 6 year dry spell her senior year. Coach Valdez went on to Texas A&M University where she studied Biomedical Science graduating with her bachelors in 2020. In her professional life she is entering her 5th year of teaching and coaching previously working with middle school athletes building the foundation of the sport she loves. Outside of work Coach Valdez loves to hike, read and play with her 3 animals (her puppy Jax being represented in the picture).
