Scholarship Tips

  • Apply! Apply! Apply!

  • It is the applicants responsibility to find, complete, and turn in any scholarships.

  • Pay attention to deadlines. Some are "received by" date and others are "postmarked by" date.

  • If application requires a letter of recommendation, request the recommendation letter early. Letter writers should be give a week or two to write the letter and get it to you.

  • Letters of recommendation should not be from family members. Request letters from people who know you and will be able to speak positively about your abilities and character. (Examples: teachers, pastors, employers)

  • Scholarships found on this page and various search engines can be used at any college/university/tech school. Don't forget to look for college specific scholarships. Go to the college/university/tech school's website to find and apply for school specific scholarships.

Local Scholarships

Local scholarships are available beginning early February. The local scholarships, available to Monett High School seniors, include hardcopy scholarships you must download to complete (from Google drive) and ones completed online at Community Foundations of the Ozarks.

All local scholarships are due Sunday, March 13, 2022. This means hardcopy scholarships must be turned into the counseling office by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. (No school 3/10 - 3/15.)

If you need assistance, watch the VIDEO directing MHS seniors on how to set up their CFO account and access scholarships in their Google drive .

You can access the downloadable local scholarships on the Scholarships for Class of 2022 Drive in February (shared with you by Ms. Maskrey). Remember: You can only access this drive from your school account.

The first file includes scholarship tips. The second file is a list of the MHS local scholarships, downloadable applications are in the drive. The third file includes CFO scholarships, many of which must be completed online on the Community Foundation of the Ozarks website. Set up your CFO account TODAY.
