Incoming 6th graders (Class of 2033): Mrs. Faulkner and Mrs. Riney (our 6th grade principal) went to Forest Park, Westhoff, Mount Hope, and Flint Hill elementary schools to present information about NMS classes during the week of January 12th, 2026. Emails were sent home so parents can register their students online. You can view the presentation and course descriptions by clicking the links in this post. COURSE CHOICES were due Friday, January 23, 2026. If you have any questions on how to pick classes, please email Mrs. Faulkner at rfaulkner@fz.k12.mo.us.
Class of 2032 (current NMS 6th graders): Mrs. Cornell sent home an email link to parents on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 to register students online. If you need to make changes to your choices for 7th grade, please email Mrs. Cornell at kcornell@fz.k12.mo.us to request the changes.
Class of 2031 (current NMS 7th graders): Mrs. Hudson sent home an email link to parents on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 to register students online. If you need to make changes to your choices for 8th grade, please email Mrs. Hudson at ahudson@fz.k12.mo.us to request the changes.
Class of 2030 (current NMS 8th graders): Our North High School counselors came over to NMS in November 2025 to present information to our 8th graders on how to sign up for their 9th grade classes at North High. Please reach out to the correct alpha counselor at FZN if you need to make changes to your course selections. You can view the Career and Educational Planning Guide on the FZN site as well. All 8th grade students must submit their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) to Mrs. Faulkner before leaving 8th grade. The ICAP is a form that plans for all four years of high school courses as well as post-secondary plans. If you need another copy of this form, please reach out to Mrs. Faulkner: rfaulkner@fz.k12.mo.us.

FZNMS Parents & Students: Do you need guidance on Canvas? Canvas is our online service that students use in the classroom to do work posted by their teachers. You can sign-up as a Canvas Observer and you will receive email notifications every time an assignment is graded within Canvas. This is a helpful way to keep on top of missing assignments that show up as zeros in your email.
Teachers will be utilizing FOCUS as their official location to report grades, so the Canvas "grades" function should not be taken as the final grade for the class. Some assignments in Canvas are for practice only and will not be reflected in the FOCUS gradebook.
Canvas Issues - If you have issues with Canvas itself (navigation, functionality, etc.), email the FZ HelpDesk - helpdesk@fz.k12.mo.us
