I chose to apply for this area of distinction because it was an area that I never felt super confident or strong in, but working towards the distinction gave me the opportunity and the push I needed to challenge myself and take classes that I wouldn't have otherwise. This area of distinction also pushed me to try new activities, like the M3 challenge which I would not have done had I not been trying for this distinction, but I ended up having a lot of fun and learning a lot through the experience.
