Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart is an exciting fundraising event for the American Heart Association. The banners pictured above show the ongoing commitment and success of Westcliff Elementary.

To kick off the event, Physical Education Teacher Mark Greenwood and Teacher Assistant Sara Luna host an "Afternoon with Mr. Greenwood" talk show for the large student audience. The 45-minute show entertains while also conveying the importance of giving back to community, keeping a healthy heart, and supporting the American Heart Association.

Everyone gets to participate during PE classes while raising funds on their own time. Mr. Greenwood teaches the fundamentals of jumping rope during the two-week drive. At the end of the unit, students get to show off their new skills on the jump rope challenge!
