If your computer is running slow, one or more applications are likely using up system memory. To fix this, we will have to quit or restart these applications. Here are the steps:
1. Press command+space to open spotlight search and type in "activity monitor" to find the activity monitor application.
2. Once opened, click on the "Memory" tab on the top of the page beside CPU.
3. The applications using the most processing power will be on the top of this list. (DO NOT QUIT ROOT PROCESSES - LOOK UNDER USER)
4. To quit the applications using the most memory, simply double click on the application and click quit.
5. If this does not fix your speed issue, just use the trusty "turn it off and on" solution, and it will be cleared up. If the issue still persists, come talk to IT and we will look into it for you.
