Future of Nobscot

Welcome

About us:

Future of Nobscot is a newly organized neighborhood group to inform not only Framingham residents but also the public about our mission to promote the awareness and effort to stop the rezoning proposal to our neighborhood.

In a nutshell:

Potential changes that have been discussed apply to the roughly 26+ acres  residentially zoned properties bordered by Edgell, Edmands and Livoli Roads and would allow commercial development and multi story buildings.(mixed use zoning) Residents' homes have been included in this proposal without their knowledge. We believe taking residential properties and rezoning to commercial is a bad precedent to set, we also oppose this because in our opinion the city does not have the infrastructure to support plans like those discussed and would be costly for taxpayers in the future.

What is happening?

A rezoning proposal has been submitted to the City to develop an area in Nobscot  and turn it into a mix of commercial and residential use.  Read more details about what has transpired so far.

Why we oppose it?

Negative impact to local residents such as environmental concern, traffic congestion, pubic infrastructure deterioration and noise pollution as well as quality of life.  Read more about negative impact to this mostly residential area.

What can we do to prevent it?

How can residents do to help with this cause and let our voices heard at the City Hall?  There are several ways you can contribute.  Take Actions Now.
