The purpose of this module is to support New Mexico school and/or district leaders in developing an equitable graduation pathway for ALL students. This tool should be used to help your school or district assess the need for a graduate profile, and a more equitable demonstration of competency for graduation.This will be an internal review of your current graduation pathway used by and for your district or LEA.
The Key objectives/Outcomes are:
Understand what assets and needs are present within your current graduation pathway
Complete the Graduation Assessment for your district or charter in order to:
Learn about possible inequities/barriers present within current graduation pathway
Develop purpose and vision for shifting graduation expectations, requirements or pathway
Read through and calibrate understanding of each question within the Graduation Assessment Set community norms and ensure the right people are present to provide specifics on data, programs, etc.
Decide the process in which you and your team would like to engage with the tool (resources and suggestions provided) *Please remember if you would like to use any of these tools, you will need to make a copy for your internal review/brainstorm
Engage in a reflective process- recommended tool What, So What, Now What Protocol, or any other collaborative reflective process.
Based on the outcomes of your Graduation Assessment how will you and your district be shifting your current graduation pathway?
